Record Store Day Black Friday 2026

Record Store Day Black Friday 2026: Full UK Guide

All 150 UK releases for Record Store Day Black Friday 2026. Friday 27th November, 8am, 300+ indie shops. Plus how to catch the leftovers going online.

Record Store Day Black Friday 2026 has been announced, and this year brings 150 exclusive releases to independent record shops across the UK and Ireland on Friday 27th November. It is the quieter sibling of April's Record Store Day, but for collectors it is arguably the better one: smaller queues, a tighter list, and a far higher chance of walking out with the record you actually came for.

Here is everything you need to know, and how to catch the titles you miss when the leftovers go online.

What Is Record Store Day Black Friday?

Record Store Day launched in 2008 to celebrate independent record shops, and the main event has run every April since. Black Friday is its end-of-year counterpart, timed to the start of the Christmas trading period.

The format is the same: a curated list of exclusive pressings, released simultaneously in participating independent shops, available on a first come, first served basis. The difference is scale. Where April's event carries nearly 300 titles, Black Friday runs leaner, which means a list that is genuinely possible to read through and plan around.

It also matters more to the shops than the headline numbers suggest. A strong Black Friday morning sets an independent up for the winter.

The RSD Black Friday 2026 Dates You Need to Know

In-store: Friday 27th November 2026, from 8am. Participating shops open early and sell the exclusives in person. There are no pre-orders and no reservations. Shops are not permitted to put anything aside for you before the day, so anyone offering to do so is not following the rules.

Online: shortly after the event. Shops can sell whatever is left over online once the day has passed. Record Store Day UK's own guidance is not consistent about exactly when, so treat the timing as a window rather than a fixed hour, and watch the shops themselves. This is the phase most collectors sleep through, and it is the one that most often works.

Standout Releases for Black Friday 2026

150 listings cover 146 unique titles, with Prince, Bill Withers, Pat Metheny and Frank Black each appearing on two different formats. A few that stand out:

  • Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band - Live at Tower Theater Philly 1975 (Box set)

  • Prince - 3121 Las Vegas Live (Box set and CD)

  • Florence + The Machine - Everybody Scream (Chamber Version) (10")

  • Madness - How The West Was One: Hammersmith Odeon 23rd December 1980 (2xLP)

  • Joni Mitchell - Live At Carnegie Hall, 1972 (2xLP)

  • Black Sabbath - Technical Ecstasy (LP)

  • Billy Joel - Tonight (2xLP)

  • Stevie Nicks - Bella Donna (LP)

  • Genesis - Land Of Confusion (40th Anniversary) (12")

  • KATSEYE - The Dance Breaks (12")

The rest of the list runs deep into jazz, soul, hip-hop and prog reissues, alongside newer names like Noah Kahan, Benson Boone, Carly Rae Jepsen and Poppy. You can read the full list at recordstoreday.co.uk.

What the list actually looks like

It is a vinyl event first and foremost. The format split runs 74 single LPs, 42 double LPs, 14 twelve-inch singles, 8 seven-inch singles, 7 box sets, 4 CDs and a single ten-inch.

Prices range from £13.99 to £168.99, with a typical release landing around £34.99. Budget accordingly: two or three titles is a realistic morning, not twenty.

Don't Sleep on the Online Leftovers

Most people treat Black Friday as a single morning. It is not. The in-store event is phase one, and the online leftovers are phase two.

No shop stocks all 150 titles. Each one orders its own allocation, which means stock is scattered unevenly across hundreds of independents. A record that vanished in minutes in London may still be sitting on the shelf in a shop three counties away, and when that shop puts its remainder online, it goes fast and without warning.

There is no central website for this. It is hundreds of individual shops updating their own stores at their own pace, which is precisely why it is so easy to miss and so rewarding when you do not.

How MerchVault Helps You Win Black Friday 2026

MerchVault tracks hundreds of independent record shops at once, so you do not have to sit refreshing tabs. Our Independent Vinyl Stores channel covers 100s of indies in one feed, alongside the likes of Banquet Records, Rough Trade and HMV.

Set keyword filters for the specific titles on your list and you will only hear about those. Add springsteen, box or florence, scream and you get a notification the moment a matching record appears anywhere we track, rather than a never-ending stream of everything.

Our Record Store Day feed is completely free via our website. The app is on iOS and Android, and covers 800+ stores in total.

Support Your Local Store

The exclusives are what get people through the door, but the secondhand racks are what keep the lights on for the other 364 days. If you are already in a queue at 8am, buy something else while you are there.

Use the Store Locator to find your nearest participating shop. It is also worth asking them directly which titles they are ordering in. They cannot reserve anything, but most are happy to tell you whether they are getting two copies or twenty, and that single conversation is the best planning tool available.

Your Black Friday 2026 Game Plan

  1. Pick your top three. Read the full list now and be honest about priorities. With limited pressings spread across hundreds of shops, a focused list beats a long one.

  2. Call your local. Ask what they are ordering and what time they open. Allocations vary enormously between shops.

  3. Turn up early on Friday 27th. From 8am, first come first served, no reservations. Bring cash and patience.

  4. Set your keyword filters before the day. Whatever you miss in-store will likely surface online shortly afterwards, and the alert is what gets you there first.

Good luck.
